Smart Search not automatically indexing documents

Hi.

I've published the edocman smart search plugin, and when I manually update the search index, edocman files get indexed as expected. However, any new documents I add won't be indexed unless I manually run the indexer again. All other content (articles, contacts) is getting automatically indexed as soon as they are created, so this appears to be an edocman issue.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Hi Paulo,
Can you please explain more details your problem. You mean that the "Indexed content" of new document won't be searched through Joomla Smart Search?
Thanks
Dam

Replied by Paulo Alves on topic Smart Search not automatically indexing documents
Hi, Dang.

I haven't began to worry about indexing content yet. :) It's the document itself that doesn't show up in searches. So, if I add a new document and then search for it by its title using smart search, it won't be found.

When I check the smart search index, the document isn't there and never gets added unless I manually update the index. After I do that, the document gets indexed and I can then find it using smart search. So I guess something is going wrong in the process that should cause documents to be automatically indexed by the joomla smart search component when they get added or changed.

This only happens with edocman files, as all other content for which there are smart search plugins is getting indexed without me needing to manually update the index.

Thanks.
