RFI - Front end tree for download was created by Sjur Østvold
Our customers need the ability to download selected documents more efficiently than todays edocman lets them.
Could you deliver a download module like the one in the attachment and how much would this cost?
As you can see, we want to be able to drill down through categories (initially collapsed), tag the wanted files and then download in one, simple process - with all the other terrific eDocman functionality, like ACL and download logging, taken care of.
Regards
Sjur

Hi,
Unfortunately, Edocman doesn't have this feature. In fact, we can implement the custom work to fit your need, but in case, you have a lot of documents and categories, the page will be very slow. Are you ok to go ahead?
Thanks
Dam

The documents in question are program documentation, releasenote, install guides etc and will be kept under 1000 documents. What kind of resons times are we talking about? I would think that it is the actual operation (download) that will take time if a lot of files - or big ones - are requested downloaded. In that case at progress bar would be nice.
I would guess that up to around 10 seconds opening the tree would be acceptable. The download will depend mostly on band width- or?
Could you give me a guesstimate on the response time and an estimate on the cost?
