Edocmancategory - as it should be or flawed? was created by Sjur Østvold
I want users that have not logged in to be able to download docuemtns of a certain category and this Works ok with the edocmancategory module.
However, there are two things I think i don't get as I want them
1) I want the users to use the dcument link button, which means that I do not want an active document link. How can I suppress this?
2) I want to register the downloaders and use the modal window. When the user presses the Process button a download link appears in the modal window , which is fine. At the same time Windows displays download to let the user open or save the document. This is unnecessary. THe download should not start before the user press the download link in the modal window.

Anybody know any settings that can make this process appear better?

Hi Sjur,
The Popup at the bottom of your screenshot is opened by IE browser, Edocman can't prevent it. In some other cases, when customers use IDM software, the Download Popup of this software is also opened automatically when the document extension is in supported option of IDM too.
In general, Edocman can't manage any strange behavior of third party subjects.
Hope you understand.
Thanks
Dam

Of course I understand.
However, the download command shouldn't be submitted before the user activates on the link. But since it does, is there a parameter I have overlooked in the configuration that will hide the download-link in the modal window? This link is superfluos, since the browser downloads anyway. Or do I have to supress it in the css?
And can we turn off the document link when the download button is shown?

Hi,
I don't understand your idea, when user complete the form, the Download popup will be shown automatically. But by mistake, you close the Download popup so you can't download the document anymore. In this case, we must have the Download link to allow user to click to download the document again.
Thanks

Download starts automatically the second I click process (on IE. Chrome and FIrefox). It does not wait for me to click the download link. I would expect it to wait until I click the link. As it is, it seems clumsy.
But no big thing. Regard it as a comment. You can Close the ticket.
Thanks.
