Is it possible to get the public url to a PDF/document that has been uploaded without going to copy and paste from the public link?

The scenario is that I don't want a list, view, or even detail view page for the documents. Each document is being added as a link from specific articles (a href =/linke to document).

So if I can get the link for the document, without displaying it on the site first.. that would be great.

Hi Stan,
At Back-end > Documents management, you will see the Download button in each document row. Right click that button, you can save the download link of document.
The format is:
http://domain/index.php?option=com_edocman&task=document.download&id=documentID
Thanks
Dam

Thanks for the reply. Yes that does work...
Next question... is it possible to create a 'view link' the same way?

What they really want is for them to view it on the site, not download it.
I can see where the wording of my question wasn't clear though (not displaying it on the site first)..

And.. they could get it from here griggers.georgiawebs.com/component/edocman if the Market Updates and Articles of Interest categories displayed the same as the ESignature and Miscellaneous. All the settings on the category are the same, including permissions. What would cause those to display differently?

Thank you.. but they would never be able to do that :-) .
It's ok though, I think we have it worked out.
