Doing this doesn't open the document in a new tab. All it does is open the document details and then give the View Link. What I want is essentially eliminate the extra steps of having to click the title which opens the details and then click the view button. I want the document to open in a separate tab when I click on the document title.
When I click this:
I want to see this:
Not this:

Please can you post the solution to this here, I am using the latest document module and would like the docs to open directly in a new tab rather than in the same page or having to open the details page first.
Many thanks

Please post the solution publicly so we can see how to implement it. Being able to choose whether a specific link goes directly to download, opens in a new tab to view within browser or whether it goes to document details is a really big deal and critical to be able to embed the link within Joomla article when and where needed. This is more important than the detail view listing and ability to do this per individual link is huge. If we could also tack on a password to a link that would be worth it's weight in gold. Thanks!

Hi,
In Edocman documents module, there is the parameter: "Open in New page", it is used open the document in current page or in new tab. But it will only be applied to Edocman documents only, it doesn't effect to Document details link in component.
Thanks
Dam
