Video Download - Problem with button was created by Jelena
Hello!
I'm sorry, my english ist'n very good.
I'd like to make a few videos available as download (mp4) without ZIP-archive or similar. Like on this demo joomdonationdemo.com/edocman/index.php/services/video
But the download didn't start. When I set the file URL from my webspace to the vide file, save & close, look on the frontend and click the download button, a new window will open and play the video. No download dialog.
I try to expand the list of "Allowed File Types " with "mp4", but it didn't help.
What can I do?
Many Thanks,
Jelena

Hi Jelena,
Once you setup the "document links" instead of uploading documents or choosing existing file on server, the "View" or "Download link" will be the "document links", the download popup (like on demo site) won't show, in this case, there are options will happen:
1. If your browser supports the Video type (.mpg, mp4 etc.), it will open the video on browser directly
2. If your browser doesn't support the Video type, it will show the download popup.
Hope my explanation is clear to you.
Thanks
Dam

Hi,
thanks a lot for the quick answer!
If I understood correctly, this is possible only with the "Document Upload" plugin?
Do you have a link to a documentation how to install a functional Document Upload site? I can't find anyone...
Thank You

Hello,
please tell me is there a way to set videos as download? The files are much bigger than 20 MB. Am I right, that this is generally impossible with Edocman?
Regards,
Jelena

Hi Jelena,
With Edocman, you are able to upload the Video files bigger than 20 MB. But you can upload those files through FTP or something else. Then, you can create/edit document and select uploaded video clip which existing on your server.
Thanks
