HOw to hide document details page? was created by Kotisivutohtori
Hi,
is there a way to give a direct download possibility to frontend users? We would like to hide the Document details page all together, and just show documents in the category view and inside an article. Is there a way to stop the document link leading to details page?

IN general settings I have yes for this option:
Use Download Link to Document title
Yes
If set to Yes, click on Document Title will download the document instead of redirecting to Document Detail page

I can see that changing the settings inside the plugin (Edocman button for editor), does change the NEW links, but does not change the old links already done with the plugin button, when the settings were still leading to details page. How can I easily reset the old links that are already done that now still lead to the details page?

Hi Anne
I am sorry. You will have to change the old links manually as it is inserted directly to the article.

Can you please provide the exact setting name for this. I cannot locate it under General. I would like to open documents directly. Thanks.

Hi Robin,
You can check the Configure option "Use Download Link to Document title" at Back-end > Edocman > Configuration > Tab: Themes
Thanks

thank you. I would like to recommend the following:
1. When you set this to Yes, the title link should View, not Download the document. There is already an icon to download the document.
2. It would be nice to be able to create a menu item that links directly to a document. Not to the details page.
Thanks!

Hi Robin,
Unfortunately, currently, Edocman doesn't have features as you request, but we have added them into wishlish for future improvement.
Thanks
