I'm using Edocman 1.5.2. and triying to update.
Got next error:
Another package is already using the named directory: /var/www/vhosts/amici-insulae.nl/httpdocs/administrator/manifests/packages/edocman. Are you trying to install the same extension again?
This seemes to be the error as described in issues.joomla.org/tracker/joomla-cms/5943?lang=nl-N
How to go on?

Made the same update for Events Booking, Joom Donation, Payment Form, Membership Pro 
. So if anyone has this issue, just download latest version from My Downloads section and you can then update it to your Joomla 3.4.0 website
