Document link in search results was created by Ryan Drewniak
Before I get started, the specifics of my installation are as follows:

=====================================
- Joomla 2.5.18
- Edocman version 1.5.7
=====================================

When I use the Joomla search module, I successfully get the corresponding documents (based on indexed pdf results, phrasing in the titles, and description text). The problem I'm having is that when I click on the link to the document, it takes me to the document details page. What I would prefer is to have it open the document, itself (in a blank window). Is this functionality that is already in place, or is there something that I can tweak myself to make this happen?

I just modified the plugin alitle. Haven't tested it yet but it should work well. Please get the updated plugin here, upgrade it to your site, check it again and let me know the result.

Regards,

Tuan

Hi Daliana,

This may sound like a stupid question, but do you have the Edocman component installed? The problem you're having lies in the fact that one of the core files is not accessible. This could be caused by the component not being installed, an error/glitch in the installation process, or possibly even file access rights for the file (ran into some issues like that with another component a while back).

If he has EDocman installed, he might use an old version.

@Daliana: Could you please check and make sure you have atleast version 1.5.5 installed ?

Hi

If you have version 1.5.2, you will need to update your site to latest version of EDocman (1.5.7) in order to modify the code as suggested above to make it works.
