How to assign a user to a document

In the configuration, I see an option for having a notification sent to a user assigned to a document, but I can't figure out how to assign a user to a document. How's it done?

When you add/edit a document, you will see a field called User ID. You can simply click on the button next to that field to select the user you want to assign document to and only that user will be able to see and download that document.

Thank you for the timely response. I may be able to use what you've described, but it's not what I was expecting/looking for. What I hoping to be able to do was have an individual notified when a document was uploaded to a given category, but I would want the document avail to all users with the appropriate access.

Ah. If you want to have notification features, then it is not supported in the extension at the moment. Will consider adding support for it in the future release but for now, it is not possible!
