can't get some permission fixed

Hello there,

So in edocman, I cannot do the following:

1. I want the public to see all my folders and see all the files in them.
2. Only registered users should be able to download. So they should only see the download button, the public not.

When I want to set the permissions, I see the folder permission settings for registered that is is conflicted, I cannot set public as denied and registered as allowed.
All the folders and files are public.
What have I done wrong? Could you give me a hand?

Yes. Please don't set the Download permissions for Public group to Denied, just set it to Inherited. After that, it will work as expected.

Sorry, I may be a bit dummy but it does not work for me. If I set these permissions, all users including public users can see and download files. But I need users to log in before downloading.
I can also do that I set the files to registered, in this case the folders are visible, but the files in them are not.
For me, it does not work.

Must be something wrong with the settings you made. Send me super admin account of your site via support ticket. I will check and correct the settings for you. It should take me few minutes only.

Hello there, Following the thread of this topic:
I have two categories in EDOCMAN, the first X and Y another
I cannot do the following:

- I want that the first category (X) only can access one group called Visitors(This group was created by me in Joomla ACL) child of group Register.

- I want that the second category (Y) only can access another group called Professors child of Register too.

But, one person can belong to both groups and can see and download the documents of all categories.

I managed that both groups can to download documents independient , but I can not the person who belongs to both groups can download anything from any category

What have I done wrong? Could you give me a hand?

hehe, Congratulations ! EDocman use Joomla core ACL for handling permission. It is sometime difficult to understand but once you understood it, it will be very powerful .
