Search for a category name? was created by IT Dept
Can I search on a category name?

Here's an example: I have a category called Apples. Under that category, I have documents called Fugi, Red Delicious, and Gala. If I type Apples in the search, I come up with absolutely nothing.

I know I can use the dropdown and find "Apples" but I also know that my users will not take the time to do that. They will simply type in "Apples" and expect to get all the documents listed under the Apples category.

Thanks!

Hi

Very interesting question/requirement. This feature is not available by default, however, I have edit the code alitle to make it possible (I haven't tested it yet).

Please get this file, unzip it, upload the file to components/com_edocman/models folder and test it again. After that, it should work as expected. if not, please let me know and I will check it carefully.

I apologize for missing this reply.

Thank you very much. However, I put it in the components/com_edocman/models folder (and saved the original just in case!), but it did not work as expected.
