view and download buttons was created by GianLuca Sarto
hello All,

I use Firefox on Ubuntu, and , as far as I see VIEW and DOWNLOAD buttons perform the same action, which is downloading.

I guess this feature is browser dependent.

To avoid users' confusion, and unnecessary traffic, I'm thinking to remove the VIEW button, if possible at all.

I would like to read your opinion.

thanks for reading,
-Gian

Hi Gian

Usually, the view button should only be available to text, image or PDF files. If you have different file types, then you should remove the view button. Just go to EDocman-> Configuration, you will see a config option to turn of the view button .

Tuan

hmm. That's strange. Maybe your web browser doesn't have the acrobat reader plugin installed. Could you please send me the link to the document so that I can check it myself ?

As replied via email, the document is viewable on my web browser (Google Chrome). So I believe the reason for the issue is that your web browser doesn't have a plugin (add-on) which allows viewing PDF files directly on browser.

So in this case, maybe you should disable the view button.

It is late here now, so if you have other questions, I will check and reply you on tomorrow morning !

G9 !

No problem GianLuca. If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. If you have few free minutes, please help me by giving EDocman a 5 stars rating and a nice review at extensions.joomla.org/extensions/directo...tion/downloads/18008 to support my development.

Tuan
