Downloads on a page

Downloads on a page was created by hets
Rather than the edocman link sending my user to a different page to view/download a document, is it possible for that to be inserted on a content page, below explanatory text?

If this is not possible, how can a direct download link be inserted into a content page? I am loathe to have my users have to click through to a separate page to get the document they would like.

Apologies if this is obvious. Thanks!

Hi

EDocman has an editor plugin (file plg_edocman_editorbutton.zip in the package) allows you to insert download link (or link to a document detail page) of a document into an article. Did you try to install, publish and use that plugin ?

I have just installed eDocman and also the editor plugin. When I insert a link in an article using the button in JCE, my users are taken to a page of details about the document from which they can choose "Download". I don't want this behavior. I want them to be taken straight into a download.

Is there any way I can set this preference?

OK found it! In the eDocman Document Link Plugin, Basic Options -> Link Type.

Set it ti to "Add link to Download Document".

I just discovered this link, but tried it in a Joomla 3.0.3 site and it doesn't work properly. The popup window formatting is messed up, but I was able to click the document item in the list. The first time it DID put a link down, but it links to the document details page (even with the setting set to download in the link plugin edit window). Now it won't even drop a link in the editor. Any ideas?

Hi Dan

If you don't mind, please submit a support ticket sending us administrator and FTP account of your site so that we can check the issue directly on your site. Will that be OK ?

Has this been solved? I am considering buying this extension (Edocman), but this feature is critical for me. Also, can I direct insert download into a K2 item? Or only Joomla content? I use K2 for my whole site.
Thanks
Dan

I ended up not using this, but I'll be working on the site again this week. I'll get you access once I get that going.

thanks!

(funny, two Dan's in one thread!)

And actually, I'm not Dan, I'm Brian, Dan is my boss, but the account is in his name. No worries, I'll get you access later this week when I get back in the office.

thanks!
