If this is not possible, how can a direct download link be inserted into a content page? I am loathe to have my users have to click through to a separate page to get the document they would like.
Apologies if this is obvious. Thanks!

EDocman has an editor plugin (file plg_edocman_editorbutton.zip in the package) allows you to insert download link (or link to a document detail page) of a document into an article. Did you try to install, publish and use that plugin ?

If you don't mind, please submit a support ticket sending us administrator and FTP account of your site so that we can check the issue directly on your site. Will that be OK ?

Has this been solved? I am considering buying this extension (Edocman), but this feature is critical for me. Also, can I direct insert download into a K2 item? Or only Joomla content? I use K2 for my whole site.
Thanks
Dan

You can go ahead to purchase the extension. I will help you to check and make sure it works for you.
