I've just installed EDocman on a new site I am developing, and I'm having trouble accessing the documents I've created. I have created a set of nested categories. In the parent category I have set the Public Download permission to Allowed. The child categories and documents have Download permission set to Inherit.
The problem is that when I first post a document, the Download and View buttons do not appear. I have to re-open the entry for the document, confirm the Inherit setting and re-save the document. Doing this enables me to download the document once. After that the permissions seem to be reset so that the individual document cannot be downloaded again.
I think I found the problem myself. I had failed to see the global Options button to the right of the EDocman admin screen. There I found the global permissions and was able to set the Public Download permission to Allow. This solved my problem.
