Automatic creation of categories and sub-categories was created by george
Hi,
I could be great to have the feature to automaticaly create the categories and sub-categories form a directory in the Document Path.
Even better if it could automatically create the Documents inside the directory also!

Hi George,
Thank you for your suggestion!
Actually, Edocman offers a solution for this through the Edocman - Import plugin. With this plugin, you can easily import categories, sub-categories, and documents based on the folder structure within a specific directory. This should help automate the process just as you described.
If you need any guidance on how to use the Edocman - Import plugin, please let me know—I’d be happy to assist!
Thanks
Dam

Hi George,
For now, you can follow these steps:
- Copy your entire document folder (including all folders and sub-folders) into the Edocman documents directory (usually root/edocman).
- Then, enable the plugin: System - Edocman Import.
- When using the plugin, do not select any Default category.
- Wait a moment and check if the categories and documents are imported into the Edocman system according to your folder structure.
Please try these steps and see if everything is imported correctly. If you need further assistance, feel free to let me know!
Thanks
Dam
