Translation completed but not displaying

I am working on the ini file translation. I've checked, the file contains the translations and is properly uploaded. Alternate language is set as the language for the site. I have cleared the cache. Any idea why it wouldn't show up? What is the language override for? Should I use that instead of the actual language file?

This question was answered on another post. Here it is again :

In Joomla 1.6, the format of language file changed alitle. In Joomla 1.5 , we wrote :

DMS_FIRST_NAME=First Name

But In Joomla 1.6, we need to write :

DMS_FIRST_NAME="First Name"

(Please note that the translated string need to be surrouned by "") .

So please make change to the language file as the above instruction and It will work fine .
