New Website. Need to Import DS Content

I am replacing my Joomla 1.7 site with Documents Seller 2.6.4.

My new site is Joomla 3 and I've purchased and installed Documents Seller 3.5.

Is there a way for me to migrate all of the Documents Seller content from the old site into the new one?

I just re-read my question and realized that it is confusing. Let me retry:

I have an old site on Joomla 1.7 that has Documents Seller 2.6.4.

I have a new site on Joomla 3 that has Documents Seller 3.5.

Can I import the content from the old Documents Seller component into the new one?

Yes. You can. Just export all database tables from your old site (tables with _dms_ prefix), import it to new site database. After that, install latest version of DMS to the new site and it will work well

Thank you for the reply. I followed your directions, and it appeared to work. Now I'm not sure. I tried to create a module on my site and received the following errors:

parser warning : Unsupported version '1.5' in blah blah blah /html/administrator/components/com_modules/models/select.php on line 126

It is worse than I thought. I tried to uninstall everything and then reinstall.

I can't uninstall the tags module. I get numerous errors including "can't find the XML setup file" and "manifest file missing or invalid." I also can't reinstall the tags module. I get this error: JLIB_INSTALLER_ABORT_MOD_INSTALL_ALLREADY_EXISTS

These issues seems so strange to me. Could you please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site so that I can check and correct it for you
