We need to set this up quickly, but I am stuck.

Your Document Seller tutorial states:

Using Documents Seller Extension --> Creating menu items to link to the component --> :

"In the menu management, press New button."

My question - What "menu management"?

Are you talking about the general Joomla menu management system, or what? I can't find any menu management area within the Document Seller component area.

So far, after a solid 2 hours, all I have been able to get to show up on the page is "There are 0 items in your cart" with a checkout button. Nothing else. No icons, no menu, nothing that the front end user can do to select products to purchase.

Thanks for any help!

P.S. After entering the component, these are the only top menu selectiions that are present:

* Configuration
* Categories
* Files
* Documents
* Import Files
* Quick Edit
* Orders
* Coupons
* Tags
* Translations
* CSV Export
* Tools

Your tutorial seems to indicate that one of these should be "Menu", or "Menus".

Hi

When I says Menu, I mention to Joomla menu system . It seems you are not very familar with Joomla 1.5 . Here are the steps :

1. Access to the menu you want to add the menu item to, for example, Main Menu or Top Menu .
2. Press New Button to create a new menu item .
3. In the next screen, the system will display list of components which the menu item can link to . Please choose Documents Seller .
4. The system will then display a list of views . Please choose Categories view for this menu item .
5. In the front-end, when users click on this menu item, the system will display list of categories in DMS so that users can browse for Documents .

Thanks ,

Tuan

In this case I guess it will not work for us.

I do not want to attach the "cart" to any menu. I'll explain:

I am a voice-over artist, I have password protected areas on my Joomla site for each of my clients.

When one of my clients approves of a voice over audio, I want them to be able to select, then pay for the audio file, then download.

Thus I want the cart to only show up in their protected area, and not attached to any menu.

Okay, I have gotten very close to doing this. For example, I can get your mod_dms_cart to show up within another module (i.e. within my customer's private area) by way of this article:
docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_put_a_module_inside_an_article%3F

That part was easy. But again, this only gives me a the message "There are 0 items in your cart" with a checkout button, and nothing else.

I appreciate any further advice on this matter.

Hi

I didn't ask you to create a menu to link to cart view . As explained in my previous forum post, I want to you to create a menu item so that your customers can click on this menu item to browse for your documents, in this case, they are audio files . Just create a menu item to link to Categories view, not Cart .

I think this task is simple . If you don't know how to do it, please send me your site administrator account (email to contact@joomdonation.com) so that I can create the menu item for you .

Thanks ,

Tuan

Sorry, but you did not understand what I said. I DID create a menu for Categories. I used your instructions and this is no problem. BUT, if I publish this menu then it provides a menu/link on the main area of the site, e.g. TOP MENU, MAIN MENU, whatever.

This is what I don't want. As I expressed earlier, I only want the cart to be assessable from my customer's private area on the site.

See what I mean?

Okay, I managed to sort of get to what I wanted with the following steps:

1-- Set everything up in your component.

2-- Create the menu as discussed, then un-publish it.

3-- Create a new (custom HTML) module.

4-- Entered the following the new module:
<a href=' www.MYDOMAIN.com/index.php?option=com_dms&view=categories ' target="_blank">Click Here to purchase and download

5-- Publish the new module within the client's private area.

It's awkward but it works.

Thanks for your help.
