Found out PDFTK is a free open source pdf toolkit that is required to be installed on your website before you can use
Active PDF Stamp feature. If you don't and you have it enabled the pdf document will fail to be opened (in the DMS download link/ button) by acrobat even though its a valid pdf file ie you can go to ftp and download the pdf and it opens ok but if click DMS download link and save /open it - it won't open.

The PDF stamp feature can print the purchasers email address on every page of a PDF document.

At the moment it requires the PDFTK toolkit to be installed (which pretty much means it won't work on shared hosting unless you can get your hosting provider to install this free library).

I think a new version is on the way which can be run from a shared hosting account... it uses the also free Zend Framework instead of the PDFTK. Since Zend Framework does not require installation of libraries it can be run from anywhere.

Don't know when this change will be released...

Is this feature working where you have pdftk installed on your server?

I have it installed on /usr/bin/pdftk but when I turn the Active PDF Stamp function on I get a zero length file of the correct pdf name. When I turn it off the same link downloads the correct file

Further to my previous post

Installing this package caused serious issues with my VPS control panel - to the extent that I had to restore to a backup

I love the idea but I suspect that the dependencies for this package may make it something for the future

In the current version, the Stamp PDF feature requires the hosting account installing PDFTK library and It is not easy to setup, so you can ignore this feature. In the next version, I will use different library (which I found in Zendframework) and It won't require installing PDFTK library .

For now, you can simply ignore this feature and wait for the new version of the extension .

Can we have a PDF stamp feature as this is key to selling documents that can be ID to avoid resale? Would very much like that feature as none exists on any other document sales utility PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

As you noticed from the previous post, this feature requires an extra library and it causes some issue, so I removed it from the extension (and won't add it again to the download package) .

So if you really want to have this feature, you will need to find a different extension (I believe no extension for Joomla have this feature) .
