Front Page Column Layout

Is there a way to configure the front page to display columns as well? Right now, I don't seem to find anyway to do this.

All the categories default to rows.

Could you please send me the link to the page you are talking about so that I can look at it? Does this page display documents from a category? If so, you can edit that category, set Category layout to columns and It will work as expected.

No, this is the front page of a store that shows all the categories at the same time, row by row. Is this configurable to show categories in column format also? Can you make it configurable?

Unfortunately, the categories page only display category by row format. Each category in one row. It is not configurable to use columns layout for this page.
