17th January 2024- New version 1.25.3

The Edocman developer team are proud to announce the release of Edocman 1.25.3. This is a fourth release for the 1.25.x series of Edocman with new improvements and bugs fixed.

What's new in Edocman 1.25.3

1. Add document archived status
From this version, beside Publish, Unpublished statuses, one document will have one more status: Archived. Archived documents won't show at frontend, they can be filtered and shown at Backend through tool: Documents list. This feature will help you to put the documents you no longer use regularly into secure storage for extended periods of time.
 

2. Showing both published and unpublished documents at frontend with admin role
From this version, if you login as Super User role, you will able to see both published and unpublished documents at frontend side. And you will able to download unpublished document at frontend side too. We also add the Unpublished indicator for documents at frontend, it helps you to know the unpublished documents easily.
 

3. Add Human titles configure option
In previous versions, when you upload/import documents through tool: Batch Upload/ Bulk Import, document titles will be the names of files. In some cases, the title documents are very confusing and annoying for users. In this Edocman version, we add new configure option: Use human readable titles, when this option is enabled, Edocman will create human readable document titles from file names automatically.

4. Improve Documents download statistic chart
In Documents Download Chart, when you select specific category. Edocman will show download statistic of all documents of that category and all it's sub-categories. This is difference with previous versions while in those versions, Edocman only shows download statistic information of current selected category. We believe with this improvement , you will be able to track total number downloads from a specific category group.

5. Improve Edocman Categories, Documents and Tags modules
a. Module Edocman Categories
We add new parameter for this module Maximum Level Depth, it's maximum of category levels that you want to show. Leave 0 when you want to show all category levels
b. Module Edocman Documents
Compatible with Joomla 5
c. Module Edocman Tags
Add stylesheet CSS for module

Can a member (user) create a category and upload files to it from the front end of the component?   category > folder > file
