The Edocman developer team are proud to announce the release of Edocman 1.9.10. This is a eleventh release for the 1.9.x series of Edocman with new improvement.
What new in Edocman 1.9.10
1. Improve Category and Document access level feature
From this version, you can setup Access level to categories through 2 ways:
2. Document gallery
If you want to upload various pictures to instroduce your document, you can use Edocman gallery plugin, it allows you to upload pictures and show them in gallery style at Document details page.
You just need to publish plugin: Edocman - Gallery
Then, when you add/edit document, you will see tab: Gallery where you can add pictures for your document.
And here is gallery at front-end side:

What new in Edocman 1.9.10
1. Improve Category and Document access level feature
From this version, you can setup Access level to categories through 2 ways:
- Select specific Joomla Access level. There are four access levels that are included in Joomla by default: Guest, Public, Registered and Special. You can read this documentation to get more knowledge about Joomla access level: www.cloudaccess.net/joomla-knowledgebase...vels-joomla-3-0.html
- Select specific Joomla user groups, thus, only users in selected groups are able to access to Category at front-end side. More details about Joomla User groups: docs.joomla.org/Help38:Users_Groups

1) Cannot see how group are assigned to a Category. It seems that only Preset is working.
2) If a category is assigned "Public" and inheritance is activated, it is impossible to see a backend that an override is chosen for one document. Say one of the documents in this category is assigned to group "Registered" and to group "Autor", in the back en list you see "Public". You have to open the document to see its actual assignment.

Hi Lionel,
If you want to assign access level to specific Joomla groups to category, you just need to click on option: Groups, then, all Joomla user groups will be shown in multiple select list which you can select one or more groups to assign to Category.
If a category is assigned "Public" and inheritance is activated, it is impossible to see a backend that an override is chosen for one document -> Yes, that's correct, because you already turned on the option: Access inheritance.
