The Edocman developer team are proud to announce the release of Edocman 1.18.0. This is a first release for the 1.18.x series of Edocman with big improvements.

Whats new in Edocman 1.18.0
1. Improve the way to add Tags for documents
In previous Edocman versions, you just can add Tags for document through an input box, separated them by comma. But from this version, by using Ajax method and jQuery Auto Complete solution, user will able to selecting existing tags along with adding new tags.


This feature is applied to both frontend and backend of Edocman.

2. Improve Document Download Limit plugin
In this version, we add 2 parameters in this plugin
- White list IP addresses. You can add IP address into this parameters to make users in those IP address will able to download documents without any limitation.
- Reset Downloaded times everyday, select Yes to reset the Limit download everyday.



3. Improve Edocman Categories Tree module
In this version, we add parameter to open/ close all categories as default.

4. Add option to Accept License one time
Turn on configure option: Accept license one time per session to allow user to "accept" the license one time before they can download all documents without accepting the license again.



5. Other bugs fixed

• Fix issue on Download function in Documents list
• Fix issue on Login to Download function in Documents Table layout
• Fix issue on User Documents function

It is a pity that you still can't override the Category Title (for example in the Menu -> Page Display -> Page Heading). And will we ever have the possibility to edit multilingual meta descriptions for each PDF (instead of uploading identical files for each language, which isn't very SEO-friendly).

But Edocman remains my favourite Document Management tool

That feature is available in Edocman 1.18.0 already. You just need to enter Page Heading in the menu parameters form, and it will be shown instead of Category Title in Edocman Category layout.
Actually, it's a minor change, so i didn't add into the Released Notes

Sorry to be such a bore. Of course I have tested the functionality before leaving a comment:

• in the global menu config (index.php?option=com_config&view=component&component=com_menus) I set "Show Page Heading" to "No". I don't want to show the browser page title!
• in Menu:Edit Item -> Page Display I habe a Browser Page Title, set "Show Page Heading" to Yes and entered the override title in "Page Heading"

But the correct title still doesn't appear ...
