free shipping at certain order was created by gianluca
Suggestion needed. The shipping will be free after a certain amount of money in the order. There are plugins but they are shown as an option. The shipping cost must be set after an amouunt of order. For example after $500 in the cart the shipping is free. How to set the shipping cost will be nothing after that amount is reached?

Dear Gianluca,

Thank you for submitting the question here. In the setting of shipping plugins, there is a parameter called "Min Total". Simply enter 500 for it, then they will work as you expect.

Sincerely, Giang

Hello for everybody. I hope that somebody will read this special configuration: this experience will add knowledgment for this component.
This free shipping over a certain amount is usual on internet and ESHOP clients want it!
So, HOW do for only a single GeoZone?
In other words I nwant to reach free shipping at certain import but only to a specified geozone.

Hello Gianluca.
Yes, there is a way to have free shipping for orders over a set amount for any or all GeoZones. For example, if you want free shipping to apply for an order over, say $500, for orders from just one single GeoZone, you can do that. You can also have free shipping for orders over ANY amount for as many GeoZones as you want. Examples-
GeoZone 1 = free shipping over $250
GeoZone 2 = free shipping over $100
GeoZone 3 - free shipping over $500
This is all done with a plugin called "Free Shipping Pro" HOWEVER...
This plugin has not been updated since 2020 and DOES NOT WORK with Joomla 4!!!!! You also have to copy and modify each individual "Free Shipping Pro" plugin (easy really, it's just some words) so you have one for each GeoZone you want to create free shipping for. I have done this for 7 GeoZones and it works well, but ONLY in Joomla3! Given that Joomla 4! has been around for a while and the developer hasn't updated this plugin (or others or not told anyone about a broken plugin) I am slowly but surely finding many issues with Eshop and the necessary plugins/templates. Good luck, you will probably be asked to "submit a ticket" and then told it can be fixed at a cost (for you only, there's more to be made if you get more people needing this plugin fixed!)

Hello. I managed this issue in this way. I duplicated the shipment by weight in two plugin. The first is dedicated to Italian Zone for shipment costs with the field "Min Total" to 150. The rest of GeoZones are in a second "shipment by weight" plugin (that has the min total field to 0). After that I created a Free Shipping plugin settings: "Min Total" 150; geozone focusing: the geozone with the state "Italy" inside, so the "Italy" GeoZone.
In this way if the shipping costs are for a cart value less than 150 euros the system lets pay the shipment for Italy and all the world; if the amount of the shipment is over the 150 euros, the system lets pay for all the world except Italy where the shipping cost is for free. So it is good.

    Hello Gianluca.
If you only have one GeoZone where you want free shipping to apply over a certain amount, what you have done will work. It's when you ship to multiple GeoZones and each has a different value to reach before free shipping applies that you will need the Free Shipping Pro plugin.

In the EShop download archive, there are "duplicated shipping plugins" so you can install multiple "Free Shipping" plugins, each with different min totals and geo zones. eshopdocs.joomservices.com/plugins-and-t...lugins/free-shipping

Gianluca, be aware that once the "free shipping" module is invoked, the weight shipping module is ignored completely. This can cause you big issues with the weight you are shipping.
Example: If a customer places goods to the value of 150 and the weight is say, 2 kilograms, the free shipping is invoked and shipping is free because of the value. The weight is now completely ignored. If the customer then places more items in the cart that weigh a considerable amount, even if the actual cost is low (EG Lead fishing sinkers), the shipping is still going to be free. Let's say you have SSD HDD's that weigh 100 grams each but cost 150 and the customer puts one in the shopping cart so now the shipping becomes free. The customer then decides to place a TV (weighing 10 kgs) and a couple of LiON batteries that weight 2kg each in the cart. The shipping is still free, even though to ship those items could eat up any money you would have made from the sale.
This is where the "Free Shipping Pro" has real advantages as it takes into account min and max weight, min and max cost, in fact almost all details of the goods.
What really is needed is either Free Shipping Pro is updated OR a MAXIMUM WEIGHT function is added to the current Free Shipping module.
