Payfast Update Error

Hi guys

PayFast recently updated their servers/programs. For a time it did not work with Joomla, but this has been resolved on their side.

Since they've updated their systems, the PayFast success return stopped working. According to them, the error is in the plugin.

Attached is the payment returning as "failure" all though the payment went through; as well as the printscreen from PayFast.

Payfast Answer:
"The payment notification (Instant Transaction Notification – ITN) communicates with the notify_url, which is a fieldset on the form sent from the checkout page, allowing for the exchange of data between the two web servers after a successful transaction. However, your website is not sending a notify URL.
PayFast does not maintain the plugin Joomla with extensions EShop by JoomDonation.
Therefore we will advise you to contact the developer for the module for them to assist if the will add the notify URL to the module."

Currently the plugin does not work on any website. What should we change/add to the plugin to get it working again?

It seems that PayFast's PDT integration method is deprecated and has been discontinued. As such the plugin will not work anymore.

Can you please update the PayFast Plugin - we will buy the new version.

The payfast payment plugin does not work. As such no EShop website using the plugin will be able to receive money. Orders state - UNSUCCESSFUL & stays pending.

Seeing another client on Friday which I want to convince to buy Eshop, but cannot if there is no plugin to receive payments.

If you are not going to release a new working plugin version for payfast, please let us know so that we can make other arrangements.

Thank you for contacting us here. Our latest versions of EShop Payfast payment plugin and EShop should work properly.

Can you please let us know what's version of extension that you are using?

Please submit a new ticket to EShop category to send me the super admin account to your site so I can login to check this problem for you.

ESHOP version is 3.1.0.

Also have other clients with the same problem, but different versions of Eshop. It is not the newest versions as all were bought a while back (so don't think we can open a ticket as tickets are for those who are still in the 12month support)?

All worked fine until PayFast updated their servers & programs. Had a glitch were payments did not go through, but PayFast edited their coding and PayFast payments went through. It just does not come back as SUCCESSFUL and as such buyers get an error that payment was unsuccessful even though the money went through. And admin now have to manually check payments in PayFast and update orders themselves to manually.

As far as we know there's not a newer PayFast version. If there is, we will gladly buy it.

Which should I buy again, the ESHOP or the Plugin.
Really do not have the funds to buy both... also want to make sure if I buy any of them that it will work.

Think the problem should be in the PayFast plugin - the order payment goes through to the PayFast page with the correct order number, name & amount due, payment is made correctly... but then the message that the ehsop component receives from the payment plugin states "payment failure"...
All the websites that use this extension must currently login to the PayFast page, check payments and then manually COMPLETE each order on the Eshop Pending Orders.

Lost one new client because they don't want to take the chance of buying the extension and having to update the payments manually.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us sort out this issue with the component & plugin.

You just need to purchase EShop and make sure that you use the latest version of EShop, then the problem with PayFast payment plugin will be resolved.
