Tax Rate ??? was created by Brandon
HI -
Hoping you can steer me in the right direction.
I'm trying to set up my tax rates properly on eShop, I set up a GeoZone, Tax Class & Tax Rate for the State of Illinois in USA. When you go on the site to shop the tax rate has been added on to the price for every item in the store. Example The price should be listed as $174.95 but is listed at $193.31 in the store as it's adding the tax rate to the price.
Clearly I set up something wrong, any ideas of what? Thanks Brandon

Hello Brandon,
If you setup the tax properly, then tax will be added to the product price. What's problem that you have? I am a bit confused.
Sincerely, Giang

It's adding tax to the product before you check-out and enter your zipcode. The cart should only add tax to an item after you enter your zipcode. So if you live in a different state, you would not pay Illinois tax, but for some reason the Illinois tax is being added to every product in the store.

Hello Brandon,
Then in the configuration of Tax Class, you should choose Tax Based on Shipping Address or Payment Address instead of Store Address. Can you please check that?

Hello Brandon,
Please go to EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Option tab, at Enable Tax choose No and save. After that, the tax is only shown at the checkout instead of showing at products list or product detail page.
Please try that and let let me know if it works as your expect.
Sincerely, Giang
