Membership Pro questions was created by Robin Duckett
Hi, It's Robin from Sightlines Initiative.
I'm still looking into installing Membership Pro.
The reason is that I find Community Builder and CBSubs too difficult to understand/configure, or to get replies from the developers, so for long periods CB doesn't work properly for us.
Membership Pro (MP) seems to have some good features, and I am now familiarised with your approach. I would like to investigate the possibility during Xmas.
EventsBooking seems to be set up very nicely now!
I have 4 questions:
1) Why do you encourage MP to run alongside CB? Does it not replace it adequately?
2) Do you have a facility to import CB current/expired membership data into MP?
3) Do you know how to make geomaps from MP membership data? Is there a plugin for this?
4) Is there a way to populate Easyblog(stackideas.com) subscription lists from MP membership?
Thanks, Robin
PS Regarding Surveys I decided to use BreezingForms as that was more dedicated to Surveys.

Hi
1=> I don't encourage MP to run alongside CB, I just supports CB (together with many other third party extensions which you can see membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/synchronize-profile-data . Sometime, customers need to use both profiles manager extension and Membership Pro on the same site, so I just support it via a plugin. Of course, CB is not required.
2=> Unfortunately, I don't have a way to import. The only way is exporting your subscribers data into a csv file, then use CSV import feature membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/subscr...t/import-subscribers to import these subscribers into the system
3=> Unfortunately, we don't have a plugin for it. We also don't have a way to display membership profile of a user in the frontend (only have feature to display members list, not the detail information of a member)
4=> Not possible, unfortunately
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
Well it sounds encouraging:
1) I'll run it alongside for a while I think.
2) That should work.
3) There are some map components: I'll ask if one of them can be made to 'talk' to yours..
4) That's a pity, but at least I think you have abridge to Acymailing newsletter lists, I think?
Cheers, Robin

Hi Robin
Yes. We have a feature to add subscribers into ACYMailing when they sign up for subscription plans on your site. Please see membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/newsle...ymailing-integration for instructions.

Hi Tuan,
I am setting up the Plans. One option I want is for someone to be able to sign up a small group with varying options of numbers (e.g 3 people, 5 people , whatever, and then they are somehow able to fill in their details, or get their unique access code. This is because we might have a school adminstrator sign up 5 staff members (at a discounted price as it is a group) , who would then need their own unique IDs. I think you have something similar on Events Booking.
Does this work on your Membership Pro system? I couldn't figure it out yesterday. Please instruct me on how to do it.
Cheers, Robin

As an example, here is the 'Custom Group' Plan I set up using CBSubs. There is a dropdown giving different prices fo different options (size of group)
It is not perfect, as there's no way to add the various individual names and emails.

OK, so I've done some further reading of your Documentation!
membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/group-membership
From what I understand, I will be able to make separate group plans with fixed group sizes (e.g. up to 5; up to 10 etc), rather than a Custom Group here the Subscriber chooses the group size. Am I right? Are there any functional changes since you wrote this Documentation?
Cheers, Robin

Hello Tuan,
I have read the group-membership Documentation, but I don't see how it will work in the way I'm thinking. If I read your explanation correctly, anyone who signs up to , for example 'small group - 5' will administer the whole list of that membership plan, even if someone else also signs up to small group 5 for their school. Am I right or not?
Cheers, Robin

Hi Robin
For the Group Membership feature, the way it works is that someone subscribe for the subscription plan, then he will be able to add group members into his group
He (the group admin) will have to add group members into his group himself. It is not possible for users to join that existing group
Hope my explanation is clear to you. I am not sure if you could use it if it is working like that?

Hi, no I'm still not clear - sorry!
Here is my example - does it work?
1) We create a Plan: "Group Membership - up to 5 people"
(This is because there are several schools with small numbers of staff, and we want them to sign up individually, but have discount for multiple membership.)
2)The administrators of various schools then sign up for their own staff: e.g. Newcastle Nursery School, Glasgow Nursery School
3) the admins of Newcastle Nursery School and Glasgow Nursery School are then able to add in the details of their staff to access the membership areas (and take them away if any staff leave the school.) Obviously they should just be able to administer their own 'names' not each others in the same Plan "Group Membership - up to 5 people"
Will it work?
Cheers, Robin
