Membership Pro - right for us?

We are looking to implement a Membership System for our Not for Profit association (implemented by end March 2015)
We have been most disappointed in RS Membership who provide minimal support.
I am most impressed with prompt, informative responses on your forums, also offers to customize where necessary.

Our information website has member only areas.
We want :
- all memberships to expire at same time each year. Once off joining fee, plus annual membership fee
- Ability to make a voluntary, user entered donation amount on joining, renewal, or at any other time (Including by non-member public)
- Monthly sliding scale of membership fee for those joining mid-year (perhaps those joining in last 3 months need join to expiry in following year would be desirable. eg. 15 months)
- Automatic renewal email, plus expired membership advice
- payment thru PayPal, and access granted automatically with payment/renewal, or withdrawn after expiry (after a 90 day grace period)
- ability to add various member fields, incl. system generated new member ID (ideally something along lines of an incremental number, with prefix of initials of first and last name
- Ability to join without an email address (however this may be 'required' with Paypal payments?) - many of our members are old and don't have/use email, but can access internet. If this is 'difficult to implement then ability for new member to select 'No Email Address' and they are assigned one - memberID@oursite.com. No Email field is a one we would need to filter in reports. (Some prefer payment by posting a cheque with a paper form so ability to manually add/join members at a joining date we select.)
- Automated annual renewal notices, emailed where possible, but a mailing (post) list to post where member opts for this.
- as above with newsletters - emailed where possible, but a mailing (post) list for others.
- We have in mind that this will be our Member database whether or not the member accesses the internet, so we will no longer need a separate database of member details
- Mail outs to select members filtered thru various parameters. eg. by state, for notice of meeting. Integration with MailChimp, or your Mass Mail ?
- seamless transition to your system with assistance of your awesome support. We have already upgraded to Joomla 3.3

Unfortuantely, Membership Pro doesn't support all of your requirements (I don't think there is any available membership extensions can handle all of these requirements, so maybe you should choose one of available extension, then hire a developer to customize it for you to meet your own need). The two important features which you requested but not available in Membership Pro are:

I also have plan to add some other features to Membership Pro at the moment, so if you need customization, I am afraid of I could not be available

I understand that nothing will do everything we want out of the box.
I am surprised if you can't do most our requirement, plus some of our wishes.

What is possible
Can all subscriptions expire at same date each year? (or, 365 days)
Can those who join mid-year do so at auto-reduced cost? if not, we can work around by replacing 12 month option with 9/6/3 month option with reduced cost. *ie. set up four options, and leave only one active and available at a time.

Maybe you mis-understood your answer. Membership Pro supports most of the features which you requested, but the two features I mentioned in previous post are not supported.

I don't see a workaround for these features, unfortunately. With the way Membership Pro is designed to work at the moment, each member must have his unique email address.

Also, we don't have a way for auto-reduce cost as you requested

suggested workarounds .

1. For those who want to join online without an email - direct them instead to a form which obtains all the needed detail and also payment. (or take sufficient detail for US to manually process the PayPal payment). We will manually create the new account for these.
Please confirm - Each email MUST be unique?

2. Reduced cost for joining mid year. Are you indicating that creating several subscription 'items' that all expired at same time, and with different costs, then manually made available only one of these at a time

Are you indicating these would not work either?

Please respond with suggestions and solutions - not obstacles and problems.

1=> Yes, each email must be unique. Instead of direct them to a form. I would suggest that customize the extension so that the email is not required. Then when the subscription is saved, the system can create a random email for him... Of course, this will require some customization

2=> Yes, creating different plans might be a solution in this case. But users must know how to choose the correct plan to get the reduced price

2. Users would not need to choose. As I said - only one would be available (active) to choose at a time

1=> We can customize that part for you. It will cost you 50$ for that customization (for this task, I can have a dev works on it)

2=> Yes, that works. Then you will need to publish/unpublish the properly plans when time comes

From the items you listed, I think Membership Pro will work for you. You only need to purchase Membership Pro, Paypal payment plugin comes with it by default already, so just need that one item

I think you should try to purchase it, try it to see whether it meets your need or not. If not, simply ask us for refund. We are very flexible
