The OS Services Booking developer team are proud to announce the release of OS Services Booking 2.16.0. This is a sixth release for the 2.16.x series of OS Services Booking with a lot of great improvements and addresses issues introduced in previous versions.
What's new in OS Services Booking version 2.16.0
1. Improve UX in Configuration page
In this new version, we have made some changes in the configuration page such as moving some fields between tabs, and hiding some configure options when the main related options are disabled. The ultimate purpose of this improvement is to create easy, efficient, relevant, and all-round pleasant experiences for administrator.
2. Implement drag & drop ordering in management pages
In this version, we fixed some issues relating to items ordering in the management pages like Categories, Custom Extra Fields ...etc, and we also modified the list page to show number of items on one page based on Joomla Global Configure option: Default List Limit
3. Apply refund payment option when order cancellation
From this version, when customer cancel their booking at frontend, the payment will be refunded back to him. Previously, this feature was applied when administrator to cancel the booking from Backend side only.
4. Add option to allow user to pay the remain amount payment of order
As you know, when user complete the booking, they will need to pay the upfront amount to activate their booking. From this version, they will able to paid the remain amount(if they want).
When user haven't paid the whole payment, they will able to to make remain payment through layout: Order Details (Frontend side)
Once the remain payment is paid, the notification emails will be sent to administrator and customers
5. Add "Message" custom field type
This custom field type is added in latest OS Services Booking to allow you to show the message in Timeslots table or Checkout form. Now, OS Services Booking supports:
- Check boxes
- Select lists
- Message
in Timeslots table, and:
- Check boxes
- Select list
- Message
- Input boxes
- Image Upload
in Checkout form
6. Add Notification Emails when customers to edit or cancel their booking at frontend side
From this version, we add various email types into OS Services Booking to send the notification emails to administrator/employees when the order is changed at frontend by customers
7. Add configure option to remove pending orders automatically
In previous version, we add configure option to cancel the pending orders when user haven't made the payment after a time period. But this configure option causes changes in some websites that are using OS Services Booking which makes our customers feel strange. They don't know and don't want the pending orders on their sites to change to cancelled orders automatically. For that reason, we decided to add a configure option to OS Services Booking to allow user to enable/disable changing order statuses automatically. It's Auto remove pending orders.
