OS Services Booking 7.0 has arrived with a major focus on resource flexibility, better data capture during timeslot selection, and a smoother booking experience on mobile/module. If you’ve ever felt limited by the old “Employees” concept, this release is a big step forward.

1) Major change: Resource Types (replaces the Employees model)
In 7.0, “Employees” are no longer treated as the only bookable unit. The new Resource Types concept allows you to run bookings based on the resources you actually manage:

• Create and manage Resource Types (staff / courts / rooms / equipment / …)
• Each legacy “Employee” can be assigned to a specific Resource Type
• Services can require/select a Resource Type (so the booking flow stays accurate)
• Clearer frontend labeling = less “employee” confusion for customers

This makes OS Services Booking much more suitable for businesses that book venues, facilities, devices, or any non-human resources.

2) New: Text custom field on the Timeslots selection page
You can now add a text custom field directly at the timeslot step—perfect for capturing key details right when customers pick their time:

• Notes / special requests
• Address details (for on-site services)
• Symptoms / concerns (clinics)
• Membership ID / reference code

Custom fields also gained:

• Validation rules (required / number / …)
• Custom validation messages

Result: cleaner submissions, fewer follow-up messages, and less booking friction.

3) Improved timeslot picking on Mobile & Modules

Other improvements included

• Fix: order total updates correctly when editing order items
• New: cost price tax mode option (incl./excl. tax)
• Checkout: preserve form data after validation errors
• Backend Week/Day calendar layout improved + Joomla Dark Mode support
• Google Calendar sync improved: only manually created Google Calendar events sync as resource busy time
• Misc: other bug fixes and improvements
