Registration settings override? was created by Dan Atrill
Hello,
We found that even with Joomla's registration system and Registration Integration turned off in Membership Pro, visitors could still register via { domain }/index.php?option=com_users&view=registration
I also found I couldn't 301 redirect users away from the page that shows the subscriber plans.
We are currently running version 2.16.0 on Joomla 3.9.3
Thanks
Dan

Thanks, that stops someone landing on the registration link going to a list of Membership plans, but our test showed that with registration turned off a user could still register!

Hi Dan
I don't understand the issue. Are you saying that users can still register via Joomla even the plugin is turned on? How do you know that they are registered via Joomla and not via other components?
Maybe it's some kind of spam registration, so better, setup and configure captcha on your site to prevent that. See docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Google_ReCaptcha for instructions

Hi Tuan
The page I sent you was headed "Membership Plans" and showed all the plans from the Membership Extension. Clicking any Sign Up button takes me to a page with "/component/osmembership/" in the URL. I think it's pretty safe to say that despite turning off registrations and using the plugin you suggested, registration is still available through OS Membership.
Can you please investigate?
Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan
The purpose of the plugin is not allow users to register via Joomla core users registration and force them to register via Membership Pro
What's the problem with that? I still don't understand what problem you are having with the way the system works at the moment

But I don't want anyone to register!
Do I have to do something more than turn off Registration Integration?

I'm confusing. If you don't want anyone to register, why do you use Membership Pro?

We have a lot of existing members who need to be able to use the website but registration for new memberships is closed at the moment.
