Double Opt-in for Acymailing Addon was created by Daniel
Hi there,
I am quit happy with membership pro and also with the acymailing addon. Regarding to the upcoming EU ePrivacy Regulation the Double Opt-In procedure for newsletters is mandatory. In the Acy settings it is possible to change to Double Opt-In. This means, that users have to activate the newsletter by pressing a link in an e-mail which comes from AcyMailing.
But in membership Pro there is no possibility to do it. User will be assigned to a newsletter list and will be acitvated by the system.
Could you change this addon in this way?
Thank you
Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel
I think we will have to see how ACYMailing handles it. There is a different option, you can allow users to choose the mailing lists they want to subscribe to, see membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/integr...se-the-mailing-lists
Maybe that works?

Hi Tuan,
I think you missunderstood. Acymailing works correct. I changed in Acymailing to Double Opt-In. Now, all users has to activate the newsletter in a seccond step, by clicking an activation link in an email. That's fine. But when users assign to a newsletter in membership pro (with the custom field you told) they are activated to the newsletter directly. There is no more activation email. It would be great if membership pro would ask me if I want to activate the users directly or not. If not, Acymailing should send the activation link, I think.

Hi Daniel
I guess the best way would be use ACYMailing API to handle this. I will see if I can get it implemented and will update you with the result (Right now, we insert data into ACYMailing directly using database query and that explain why the setting in ACYMailing doesn't have any affect)
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
thats great. In the database you'll find _acymailing_subscriber and the collumns enabled and confirmed. I think you should use only enabled. Maybe Acymailing will send the activation mail automatically in this way. But I am not sure.

Hi Tuan,
I've got this requirement as well - did you manage to develop it further?
Thanks,
Roger

Hello Roger
Not having ACYMailing installed here and could not check it. However, I believe it's now supported as we are now using ACYMailing API to subscribe users to mailng list
So just test it and let us know if you have any issues. If you ever had problem, please submit a support ticket and we will be happy to check it
