Unable to install PayPal Pro plugin

Hi all,

I am having problems installing PayPal Pro plugin on joomla 3.
Error:

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find Joomla XML setup file.

Unable to find install package

I've tried to install by uploading the package and installing from folder. The downloaded file is unzipped so I'm uploading zip file called os_osm_paypal_pro.zip. Am I missing something?

When plugin is enabled there are additional fields appeared in subscription form requiring to enter subscriber's credit card details, I also noticed the plugin's title is Paypal Pro (Creditcard payment). I need this plugin to redirect user to his paypal account for payment without having to enter his credit card details.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Would not the PayPal plugin that comes with MP do want you want?

Unfortunately it wouldn't, as I need to have the ability for the subscriber to cancel the subscription from his profile on my website, this feature requires the PayPal Pro plugin.
Any idea how to make to work the same way as the default plugin?

At the moment, it is not possible to do that, sorry. For PayPal Standard Payment plugin, users will have to login to his PayPal account to cancel the recurring subscription

I've heard that we can use PayPal Pro API to cancel recurring subscription subscribed by PayPal standard but I haven't tried and implemented it yet . Also, if you use PayPal Pro for just this feature, I am afraid of it is too expensive as PayPal charges you Monthly fee for using PayPal Pro. And also, seems there are other problems, too:

- PayPal Pro can only be used in some countries like US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
- It seems PayPal doesn't allow recurring payment for new PayPal Pro (they want new customers to use PayFlow Pro instead if I remember correctly)

What is the difference between PayPal Standard and PayPal Pro plugins for membership pro? I've purchased the Paypal Pro plugin so user can cancel his subscription from my website. Is this not possible?
And why there's a credit card information fields on the subscription form when PayPal Pro plugin in enabled?

George - While you are correct you need the PayPal Pro plugin to allow users to cancel their subscription from within MP, that can only happen if you have a PayPal Pro level account with paypal. I just went down this same path. If you look at my threads you will see a paypal pro level account with recurring payments would have cost me $40 per month plus the transaction fees.

I opted to get the MP Stripe plugin and go with Stripe for credit card purchases. It gives users the ability to cancel their subscription and does not have an added monthly fee. It does require SSL if you do not have it already.

My experiences with Stripe thus far have all been very -very good.
