Import Issues was created by Nick
1. It is possible to import a subscriber but for it not to create or link to a Joomla User. Since the Subscribers view does not show the User field it is not possible to identify these. Also after editing a MembershipPro subscriber with a Blank User I suddenly had 700 Subscribers with the same name. I think other users with blank user were overwritten. (Not all though, I have found 1 suer with a blank user so far)
My suspicion is that Subscribers with a blank user are created by duplicate imports and that once there are some Subscribers with blank users then THINGS start to go wrong.
The attached import file is currently creating a Subscriber for me but without creating a Joomla user and so leaving the User field blank. UPDATE: Missing OR Duplicate emails will cause a Subscriber with blank/unlinked User to be created
2. Import files must have the extension csv. A file with a txt extension will generate a "0 Subscribers imported message"
3. If an import goes wrong then subscribers must be deleted 20 at a time because there is no option to show more than 20 in the list

Importing 54 contacts. After import date fields originally entered as 3/31/2015 show up as 11/24/0001. Any idea why and how to fix? Thanks. Sobem

Hi
The date needs to be in format YYYY-MM-DD. Please correct the data follow that format and it should be imported properly.

Every time I format spreadsheet as you directed and then save to csv, it reverts back to mm/dd/yyyy. I have formatted fields to text, general and yyyy-mm-dd, engliush uk, etc and the same happens. Any suggestions?

Sobem, are you saving as csv and then re-opening in Excel? A csv file is just plain text so Excel cannot save any formats. If you re-open a csv in Excel it will pick up that the fields are in date format and so display them as dd/mm/yyyy (or mm/dd/yyyy in US format). Have a look at the exported/saved csv file using a text editor such as Notepad. You might find the format is correct.

I dont see a title field on the sample spreadsheet. What should we call the "Title" field for importing? Thanks in advance.

Problem remained but found a work around. Format the field as needed (yyyy-mm-dd), clicked to save (but did not close the file). I kept it open and imported fine that way.
Thanks for your feedback though. That kept me on the problem till I found this other way to resolve. Thanks again.
