Cart or "add to cart" not working properly

I recently purchased docseller. In general I Love it. I had docman for quite a while.
I am attempting to use the cart feature - but it is not working properly, I believe.
I have a recently installed new joomla version (haven't built the whole site yet)
I have several doc categories, each with several docs all with prices.
the navigation of all that works fine.
the cart module appears fine on the pages I assigned it to.
the activate cart feature in config is set to yes.
Documents appear with prices and ORDER and DETAIL Buttons.
If I click on the order button, the site immediately starts directing me to paypal before I have a chance to review my cart - or add more docs to it.
Once at paypal, I cancel the page - go back to website - and doc is in the cart. I can review the cart, see the doc in it, and click on BUY MORE.
Which takes me back to docs browsing....click ORDER on another doc - and off to PayPal again.
Shouldn't the "order" button act as an "add to cart" button - and then when I've added several items to cart, be able to hit "checkout" on cart - review the order (maybe make a change there) and then head off to paypal land?
What am I missing?
What have I done incorrectly?
thank you in advance.
JD
ps - I current have the site in "offline" status - let me know if you would need to see it function to determine what's going on.

It is not a bug in DMS . In configuration function of DMS, there is a config option called Bypass Paypal Order Form . I think you set it to Yes , the you could not view the cart .
Bypass Paypal Order Form is a new feature added in DMS 2.5.4 . I explained it in my blog post :
We added a new useful feature called Bypass paypal order form. If you activate this feature (from configuration section of DMS ), customers will be redirected to Paypal to process payment as soon as they press the Buy Now button. That mean customers won' t have to enter information like first name, last name, email.... in the order form, so It saves customers time . These information will be get from their Paypal account and update to database, so you still see customer information from orders management function as if they were entered on order form .
So on this case, you just go to configuration section of DMS, set Bypass paypal order form to No and The extension will work properly .
Please let me know if you have more questions .
Thanks,
Tuan

outstanding.
That has "fixed" my problem.
Thank you for your quick and accurate response.
Also - thanks for this awesome document seller. I used the old docman for 6 months effectively, but it was kinda clunky and didn't function properly sometimes.
I love the software.
All the best -

I will rate it high -
if you can tell me why THIS doesn't work now.
the cart is working - but now when the form is filled out and I hit "COMPLETE ORDER"
I am directed to
500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: frontpage, html, dmsView
if i recall from another thread - does turning off paypal order form fix this?
and if so - then I'm back to my original problem.
again - perhaps I am configured wrong.
thanks in advance for your response.
