RSComments integration? was created by Cliff
Hi Just purchased this component, to replace RSEventsPro which is not Bootstrap 3.3.7 compatible. However we still use RSComments - do you have a plug in for that please? I see you have JComments but that is really old and they are not providing support so we discarded that some time ago.
Just wondering what I should do now...
Thanks
Cliff

Hello Cliff
We don't have support for RSComments yet. Could you please contact their support, ask them to see whether they provide integration document with third party extension? If Yes, send it to us. We will see if we can develop that plugin
Regards,
Tuan

Response from the RSJoomla team:
"Unfortunately we don't have any developer related documentation I can provide you with. Feel however free to inspect the source code currently available for RSComments!.
However, If you would like to embed the comments into a third party component, you can try using a similar syntax:
{rscomments option="com_componentname" id="unique_id"} "
How now?

I have tested this in the Event Description filed and it works well! Essentially brings the Comments for that event (based on the unique ID) into the Description field.
Of course we don't want it under the description field, so Is there a way you can create a plugin to call that under the "Comments" tab please?
So the syntax is: {rscomments option="com_eventbooking" id="the ID of the event"}
Sorted!

I have no idea how RSComments handle it, but I try to write the plugin quickly. You can try to get it here, install and publish it to see whether it works

CONGRATULATIONS Tuan!!! This is awesome - it works like a charm - see image.
I even get the comment email, the unsubscribe button, and the Admin also gets an email to say there's a new comment, all as per RSComments setup.
Only snag is there are now TWO comment tabs..
I guess you need to remove the other when you get the plugin productised!
i
Well done and thank you!!!

I guess the first comment button is there because you published the plugin Events Booking - Jcomments plugin. Go to Extensions -> Plugins, find and unpublish that plugin, then the first comment tab (blank) should be gone

Great. Thanks for confirming that it works. Honestly, I developed it base on @Cliff request. I haven't tested it at all (as I don't have a copy of RSComments to test)
Happy to hear that it works
