Event has more Registrants that what's shown

When I click on "events' it shows me the list of all the events, the capacity of each, and how many registrants for each.
So I have an event with a capacity of 25, and it shows 17 signed up. However, when I go to the registrants list, I only have 11 people. Why would this be occurring? My event will stop selling once it's full because it's based off an inaccurate count?

Maybe it is because you have some group registrations ? So for example, you only see 11 records but some of them are registration records with number registrants > 1? Try to sum value of the number registrants column, it should equal to 17
