Coupon for event only, not for fee fields

Is there a way to set up the coupon to only discount the event fee and not the custom fields?

We offer classes and sell the optional books and other items as a customs fee fields during enrollment. If we wanted to offer a 25% off coupon, it currently takes it off the total cost, including the fee fields. Is there a way to toggle this on and off per coupon code?

It would be helpful to assign coupon codes on the event creation page as well. This would make it flow easier us.

Right now, we don't have that option supported. If there are more customers requesting for it, I guess I can implement it

For now, maybe you can create coupon code with fixed discount amount (For example, if the event price is 100$, then the discount amount can be 25$ in this case)

For assigning coupons code in event creation page, not sure how will it works? Do you have a sample? Coupons still be created on Coupons management page, and then you want to be able to select the coupon when you add/edit event?

We could do that but want to give a company 25% off a variety of classes that have different prices. But if they apply the code, we lose money on the books and other items.

If so, for now, I guess the only option is customizing the code. Any other customers need this option so that I can consider adding support for future versions?

Yes, I allow users to create events from the front page and many times they would desire that a discount is only applied to the ticket to attend the event and NOT for other items added. This is especially a problem where event organizers may team up with other vendors who provide services/products in conjunction with the event. Automatically including a discount to their services/products isn't expected.

This was requested in the thread www.joomdonation.com/forum/events-bookin...scountable-fees.html It basically requests that fields have a flag which makes them eligible for discount or not-eligible.

I have a bad hack in place, and has worked for two years. Any field with a name starting with XD_ is excluded from the calculation. We use this as our coupons are allowed to discount the ticket price but not some specific fee fields.
