Hi Tuan,

The calendar module extends beyond the template boundaries with long month names.

Check on the right of the screen and go to September. Even if the sidebar width is increased it still extends beyond the template width.

Example at 0tuan.slu.biz

Regards,
Ian

Best wishes,
Ian

Hi Ian

The reason is because the right side of your site is too small and it is not enough space for month with long name. Maybe we can add some css code to make the font smaller to fit that size? Please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site so that we can add some css code to handle this case

Tuan

HiTuan,

As I said in my original post "Even if the sidebar width is increased it still extends beyond the template width.". The module simply expands into the available space and goes outside of the template boundary. With a fluid or fixed width template with a 75% right sidebar, the module just grabs all the available space and still expands beyond the template boundary. If you like we can change the template to a 50% sidebar. Same thing. I'll put another site up tomorrow to show you.

We build our own templates so can edit them as required, this is not somebody elses template,it's our own creation and this needs to work on around 20 different sub domains currently all with different templates (marginally).

I'll happily give you access to saintlucia.ga, it uses the same basic template and gives identical results, but I fail to see what that will achieve..

Regards,
Ian

Best wishes,
Ian

Hi Ian

For that, I need help of my template developer (I don't have much experience with css), so if you can submit a support ticket so that I can have my template developer to check it, that would be great

Tuan,

That's no problem. I'll even PM or email you a copy of the template concerned that we built ourselves. It's about 2Mb and automatically goes dynamic for mobile devices. Not via the forum, too many eyes. We've all got to keep a secret or two, it's what gives us the edge and keeps us all ahead. Maybe a ticket would work?

Regards,
Ian

I really should spend more time reading and understanding what other people write -ticket coming soon. must be about 10.00 am where you are?? Where I am it's 11.00pm. Oh! So what! All in a good cause.

Best wishes,
Ian

Hi Ian

If you have a site with wider right side but the module still extends beyond the template width, please send us the link to that page

Maybe I can have my template developer to look at it and tell us the solution. And Yes, you can go to www.joomdonation.com/support-tickets.html , submit a support ticket to provide us private information

Tuan

Tuan,

I'll send you a link tomorrow for that.

The zip of the template is on its way to you now. You will understand more when you see my message in the ticket.

I will also send you another zip template for the wider sidebar site.

Regards,
Ian

I've got to go to my bed.

Best wishes,
Ian

Oh! Dear.

Hi Tuan,

Your man sent a css fix for tablet computers and that didn't work. Surely, if he is going to fix a problem he shouldn't be modifying "MY TEMPLATE" he should be fixing his own failures in programming.

So far the only solution that I have come up with, for your css mans ineptitude, is to restyle the original template so the "sheet/frame" is transparent and to reduce the quality of the background to 90% so that the background is almost invisible. No problem but at least that means, because the "sheet" is now transparent, nobody can see the calendar module extending beyond the "frame Boundary"

I can work with that, it's just "smoke and mirrors". Not happy but we can adapt. "HUMM" ??? Always loved "smoke and mirrors!"

slu.clubcari.com shows the template and the calendar module expanding any way it wants.. Just change the month on the tour calendar on the right. It goes outside of the frame boundary but because the frame is transparent - who knows?

Tuan, I'm not getting at you. In the last year or so we have always, I think, had respect for the knowledge we share. It's just a bummer when another "techie" lets you down and they think that the person their talking to is an uneducated computer illiterate.

Onwards and upwards my friend, Adapt, modify and overcome and remember, always try to think outside of the box. Like i did with multiple versions of Event Booking running through the same website, with shared database tables, just to prove it to my techies and show them that this old man still has a use - it could be done - nothing is impossible. They said "you can't do that" well - not pretty but I did.

I'm not troubled (after more than 50 years dealing with this crap) by these children who think they are "Gods Gift" to systems development. I am old enough to take a breath and find an alternative and still be working with your components - components that I think are wonderful. (sob sob, pass the tissues please).

Tuan, have a blessed day, Sorry for sounding off at you but your css techie is ???????

Very fondest regards,
Ian

Best wishes,
Ian

Hi Ian

I must be honest that I am not good at css and for something like that, I need to rely on my css developer. From what you described, look like he didn't do a good job. If you are not happy with it, maybe you can restore the change, then send us super admin account of the site so that I can discuss directly with the dev to find a good solution.

It is better to give us access to your site so that we can do the modification, add custom css, check the result before asking you to check it again. That should save your time, and also safe as we can check the result before asking you to check it

Regards,

Tuan
