Events duration on Google Maps and Calendar view was created by davide
Hi Staff,
is it possible to show the events on Google Maps (module) and Calendar view (menu page) for all duration event?
Now seem that the module and the menu item show only the event on starting day.
Many thanks

Hello Davide
Could you please explain more details about this question? It is not very clear to me. Maybe give me a sample event which should be shown but currently not being shown so that I can understand your question and give you the answer

Hi Tuan and thanks for your help,
now I attach some screenshot and explain you better the situation:
1) on the first screenshot (eventi-durata.png) you can see the event "Biennale Arte 2017" that starts on "2017-05-13" and stop on "2017-11-26"
2) on the second screenshot (eventi-durata2.png) you can see the date of the event that looks like a single day
3) on the third screenshot (eventi-durata3.png) you can see the July Calendar and the event "Biennale Arte 2017" is not present
4) on the fourth screenshot (eventi-durata4.png) you can see the June Calendar and the event "Biennale Arte 2017" is not present
5) on the fifth screenshot (eventi-durata5.png) you can see the May calendar and the event "Biennale Arte 2017" finally is present
My question at this point is:
why does an event that lasts longer than one month appear on calendar only a single day?
many thanks again

For the Google Maps Event (module), the speech is the same.
In fact if you look today wednesday, June 5th, for the event "Biennale Arte 2017" is not shown, as you can see from the screenshot (google-maps-event.png).
It is shown only if i've enabled past events from the module.
Thanks

The problem exactly is that if I create an event that start today and ends in a month:
1) into the map (google module) anyone can see the event only today, and not all the month
2) into the calendar view (menu item) anyone can see the event only today, and not all the month
Now I've seen that the Event Booking new major release (3.0) comes out, could you tell me if these bugs are fixed now?
Many thanks again

Just guess: Maybe this issue happens because you have Hide Past Events config option set to Yes?
Go to Events Booking ->Configuration, set the config option Hide Past Events to No, then check it again to see whether the issue sorted?

Hello Tuan,
I've disabled on general config the "hide past event".
And so I can see the event that start last week and ends the next week, but so another problem cames up, In fact, the user can also see the events ended (for example last months events or last year events) and this can generate much confusion.
Enabling the "hide past event" function is not a good solution for me, the right solution is simply to make visible on map and on calendar an even that start one week ago and ends for example the next week.
A few years ago I used EventList for Joomla and this behavior was perfect around this.
Even EventBooking I think must work like this.
thanks

=> What's the menu options you are using for this pages? In latest version 3.0.0, I added parameter to some of menu options to allow choosing Show/hide past events based on each menu item (not depends on the Configuration) and that might be the solution for this problem

Tuan

As you can see from the screenshot on google map module, the "hide past event" is set to NO.
And for "Calendar Monthly layout page item" no options are present.
But I think could be very easy make this verify, If you want to speed up the resolution of this problem, and possibly if it's a serious bug:
For example if you (on your event booking system, where you have disabled the past events to show) create an event that start the first of July and ends on August 24, (as second screenshot event-duration), could you see now (today or tomorrow or in a week) it on google map and on "Calendar Monthly layout page item?
My answer is no, you can see this event only the first starting day. Confirm?
Could you make this test please? Or if you prefer I can give my admin access.
If you want to know why I preferred to disable past events, the reason is that this creates confusion in users who visit the site because they can see events that are no longer existing.
many thanks
