Split event date - two non consecutive days was created by Donna
Hi There,
Thanks for this great plugin, I'm loving it!
I saw that there was a discussion on the forum about 4 years ago, regarding how we can create an event that is split across multiple days (non consecutive). Wondering if there has been any update or change on this since 4 years ago?
What I would like is to create 1 event over 2 days. e.g.
Day 1 June 29th 8am - 5pm
Day 2 July 6th 8am - 5pm
Is this possible yet?
Kind Regards,
Donna

Hi Donna
Sorry, this option feature is not supported yet. That's something we will try to add support for in the next release 2.5.0 (this will be a new kind of recurring event option in the extension we you can manual insert different dates for the event)

Hi Tuan,
Can you provide an update about this feature?
I have the same situation here. I need to create an event (a class) that happens in 4 different days.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Please update to latest version 2.7.0. Then :
1. Go to Extensions -> Plugins Manager, find and publish the plugin "Eventbooking - Additional Dates"
Now, when you add new event, you can add more dates to that event (sorry, this feature has not been documented yet, will try to work on documentation in the next few days)
2. Then go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at Themes tab, find the config option "Show children events date under parent events", set it to Yes
After that, an event can have multiple dates. These dates will be displayed under event details and users can register for the date they want (like in this screenshot Show children events date under parent events)
Please try that and let us know if it works
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan, thanks for your reply.
I my situation it works "kind of".
Additional dates was a great option for another course we have which has new classes everyday.
The situation I mentioned is a bit different. The example I gave is about a 4 days event and when the user register, she can't chose one of these dates, because she will be registering for all 4 days, despite they being non consecutive days.
Best,

Hi Diego
In this case, the feature is not supported and to be honest, I don't know how it should work
I think in this case, you will just need to create one event and then in the description, you can say that it is multiple dates...
Not sure if you add more dates, how it should work (or how you expect it to work) ?

Hi Tuan,
That is a rather complicated feature I agree.
Anyway the component is great. I am doing as you said. In the description of the course I inform class days.
I believe that, if one day you try to implement this feature, the best approach would be a plugin. How to do it is up to you, you are the developer, I am just a user.
Thanks a lot.

Hi!
I'm facing the same need : An event is SPLITED in non consecutive days.
As to me, as it is not handle in Event booking as it, i use custom fields : One custom field for each date (excluding first and last, already in EB). But this way, it i not perfect with "Additionnal Date plugin" (as my custom fields aren't in this plugin).

Hi
With the option of assigning custom fields to category, I think your issue should be sorted now?
