Need to do picture of detailed event form bigger was created by Tim Stöhr
Hey Tuan,
Due to the stupidity of Facebook taking only 200px pictures, I need to make the picture in the detailed events (and/or also in the overview) bigger.
Could you please tell me how I can do that?

Hi Tim
I must be honest that I don't have much experience with Facebook sharing. However, since Facebook doesn't accept that large image, I am afraid of we don't have a way to handle this. If you want to have large image for the event, that's OK. However, it won't be showed on facebook share result because Facebook doesn't allow that
I think we will have to accept this limitation

Hi Tuan,
I have found a nice and good way for facebook sharing to show images etc... I just need bigger pictures. Please tell me how to make the pictures that appear on the event booking form bigger... I will post my solution as well.
PS: The solution works already now but the pictures are bad resolution because my website presents them bigger to FB than they are on the website... meaning low quality... If I have bigger pictures (say 300 x 200 px) then it will present them properly to FB.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim
As I mentioned before, I don't think we have a solution for it due to the limitation of facebook. The only solution I think is that we will have two images in this case, one is used to post to facebook and one is used to display on the website.
However, this will require too much customization and I am afraid of you will have to find a developer to work on it for you if you really need this feature

Hi Tuan,
As said, Facebook + website do it already perfectly on my side. Please just tell me how to make the picture bigger so that I can get better quality images.
Everything works perfectly, Facebook takes the current picture and makes it bigger (which then looks pixely as it is under 200px.

So how do you upload this picture for the event ? Upload thumbnail for the event ?
If so, I think you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, there are two config options called "Thumbnail width", "Thumbnail height"
You can increase the value of it, then re-upload the thumbnail image for the event ?

Whoops that was easy... I tried to CSS override it and it was a pain the behind.
Yes I only use the thumbnails. There is a nice plugin called facebook content image (something): here is the link extensions.joomla.org/extension/link-wit...e-images-on-facebook
It is VERY annoying to set up but once it works it is not a problem anymore (I know it says that it only works for articles but somehow it works for components too).
Thanks!
