Calendar view should show 'no events' message was created by dsrpmedia
Hello
I just noticed that in the 'category view' when there are no events in the category it shows a 'there are no events' message - but in calendar view the calendar loads even if there are no events.
is there any way we can make it so that if there are no events upcoming when a client clicks calendar view link they would get the 'no upcoming' message?

Hi
No, I don't think it is a good way. When you access to a calendar, you will view event of a specific month. That month, we might don't have events. But next month, we might have events, so the calendar should be displayed so that customers can navigate to different months/years to browse for your events

that is what the problem is - if there are no future events but the calander loads you have to keep clicking through month after month to see if there are future events - if there are no events it would be way better if it just said there were no events, save the user a lot of bother

That might be OK in your case. Some customers still want their customers to browse for past events in the calendar, so we don't have a perfect solution in this case. Maybe having a config option will solve it, I will think more about it
We will leave this discussion open here to see whether there are any customers need this feature/option (I must say that in the few years of Events Booking history, I haven't seen anyone requested this feature).
This week I am busy, but if you really need it, next week I can customize the code for you to make it happens

it is not urgent - my client has not mentioned it to me
I was just getting really frustrated looking through the various events calanders on his site to see which actually had events.
I`ve used your products for years & you are always great with the support - when you get to it it is something I would like to see, next week or whatever would be fine

Hey Tuan
I think Larry is just asking for the same modification I requested.
Right now if using calander view if someone goes to an event category and there are no events you have to scroll through month after month to discover there are no events - the calander should simply not load if there is nothing to load - and a message like 'there are currently no events scheduled' should load in its place
