Cannot get Group Registration to show up was created by Chris Cook
I only see "register" and "Invite Friend". I have Group turned on in configuration under "Collect Members Information in Group Registration" and selected "both individual and group registration" in the event area. Also put capacity at 10 (no number works).

Hi Chris
Please go to Events Booking -> Configuration, find the config option Activate Shopping Cart feature, set it to No. After that, it will work as expected

Tuan,
Does this mean that you can not use group reservations together with the 'shopping cart' feature?
If not, then this really is a serious limitation of the extension and should have been documented somewhere.
This is a deal-breaker for us. We have to register multiple people for different events/sessions all in one transaction.

@cpaschen: Yes, it could not work together. I mentioned it in documentation of the extension
documentation.joomdonation.com/2-events-...n-event-booking.html
If you cannot use the extension because of this limitation, please help us find a different extension (I am not sure there is any extension support both) and we will refund the money of your purchase. We will consider adding support for it in the future.

Tuan,
We've been using DTRegister for years and it has had this feature for at least a couple years.
However, DTRegister is horribly supported (they don't respond to support requests for over a month!).
And I would rather support you (we've used JoomDonations for a few years and LOVE it).
Here's what I need to do ... is there ANY way to make it work with Events Booking?
Events:
1. Season participation - Student
2. Sport 1 - Student
3. Sport 2 - Student
4. Sport 1 - Parent
5. Sport 2 - Parent
A typical person (a parent) would need to register:
Child 1 -> Event 1, Event 2, Event 3
Child 2 -> Event 1, Event 3
Child 3 ->Event 1 Event 2
Parent 1 ->Event 4, Event 5
Parent 2 ->Event 4, Event 5
Ideally they could do that somehow with just one financial transaction (i.e. checkout). Also, we need to allow the person registering to be able to log-in in the future and see their purchase (showing all those items).
Is that possible with the shopping cart somehow - can they register other people for individual events?
It would be a step backwards from what we have had in DTRegister with the group/cart option; however, I'm willing to consider that - esp. if you might add the group/cart within the next year.
Thanks

Also,
For each child I need to collect specific info (name, age, gender) and for parents I need to collect several other info - all through custom fields.
BTW ... I've done some testing and can't seem to make the custom fields display multiple times (once for each person registered).

@cpaschen: This kind of registration is complicated and not supported in Events Booking yet. Right now, we have no way for you to handle that kind of registration within one checkout/one transaction.
When you use shopping cart feature, you can register for multiple events within one checkout. However, it won't allow you to enter registrants information for each event. This is something we will consider adding support for, however, to be honest, to have it ready in the extension, we could not have it sooner than 6 months from now as we have to develop other features as well
This feature is useful, however, it is not needed for most customers, so I don't give it a high priority for now.
So if it is a must for you, I think you will have to stay with DT Register for now (to be honest, I don't understand how they handle this case at the moment, If I remember correctly, I see this kind of feature in Registration Pro extension from Joomlashowroom).
However, to be honest, I haven't looked at them for few years, so I don't know how it looks like now

FYI ...
After having used DT Register for this for a few years, but seeing their support almost disappear (not responding for a month at a time), and several 'strange things' happening after their last update (after they haven't updated in a year), we just couldn't stay with them any longer.
And the reviews on the JED for Registration Pro are SCARY. It almost made DT Register's support look good. And if the writing on their web site is any indication of the way they write code, I wouldn't ever think about using their system.
So, in the end we decided to 're-work' our registration work-flow (because we're changing extensions, we figured we could throw a work-flow change into the mix for our registrants at this time and not make it too bad.
What we did was to just create 2 events - one for each 'type' of person that would need to register and require our people to actually register in 2 different rounds (I know this sounds like horrible UX, but people registering for our events are committed and we turn away people every year, so they will go along with this - hopefully you'll have this functionality next year and it will only be a 1-year thing). We turned on Group-only registration and within each event we created custom (fee) fields that allow the registering person to indicate for each group member what they will be participating in via radio and check boxes.
It's not the ideal solution, but it will work for us for this year - with eager anticipation for a group-cart solution next year.
Now, to figure out how to make 'checkout' info show on a free group registration. Hmmm...
