Deposit feature - balance of partial payment was created by Stephen Espenschied
I have activated the deposit feature in an event which works well.
My problem is, how does the person attending the event revisit the registration to pay the balance? Is the assumption that the balance will be paid at the event or is there a feature I am missing that allows the attendee to pay the balance against the event.
Paying the balance on line before attending is obviously the best solution as we are assured of getting paid. If anyone knows how this has been or can be done it would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve
At the moment, the deposit feature will be paid when users attend the event. The extension doesn't have a feature allows users to pay the remaining amount at the moment.
It is a nice feature, so I will consider adding support for it for future releases !

Thanks Tuan,
You have made a great product and I know its nearly impossible to cover every possibility. However, just so I know how I might fashion an answer to my problem;
1. Is it too big a job for me to pay one of your developers to customize this feature for me now?
2.If it is, my short term fix is to provide my bank details in the user email body with a request for the due amount (if deposit option was chosen) via direct transfer by the date of my next reminder email. It will also ask to provide their surname of the booking as the bank reference to make it easier to cross reference my end. My EB auto generated reminder email will once again ask for payment if their is a due amount and give bank details again.
A bit cumbersome but may provide a fix for others in the same boat. I really don't want to rely on collecting on the day of the event plus the extra administration to chase it and reconcile.
Obviously option 1 is a lot easier to administer and preferable if it is possible.
One last question though. With my reminder email, if I use the field/tag DUE_AMOUNT, would this data be pulled from the registrant so that field will provide the specific relevant amount due to the person being billed?
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Tuan
We have discussed this feature as well as I need to have event registrants complete their payment via paypal prior to the event.
If it helps anyone else I have set up an addition PayPal menu link with a various choices for the outstanding amounts. This works but is not linked to the registrant so bit of manual reconciliation is required which is Ok for my situation as i will only have maybe 20 people needing to pay the the extra.
I still need to integrated functionality when you get to implement it.

I think next month, I am going to add support for this feature (for Paypal payment only because it is the most used payment gateways and easier to integrate).

Tuan

Hi Tuan,
I have been waiting quite a few months for this feature. Is there any way to make it also available for the Eway gateway? I have lots of people pay via this gateway and if they make the initial payment using it, it seems unlikely they are going to use a different payment method (i.e PayPal) to make the balance of the payment.
Also, if I have had customizations done, how do I get access to this feature without losing the customizations?
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve
Having it added for Eway (creditcard based payment gateway) will be difficult but I will think more about it. If you have customized EB before, you will need to re-do the customization if you want to use this feature !

Hi Tuan and Stephen!
I met the same need than Stephen : A deposit is asked when someone want to participate to an event. That works perfectly. But is there a way to aks user to revisit site and paid the balance??
Tuan, you said : "I think next month, I am going to add support for this feature (for Paypal payment only because it is the most used payment gateways and easier to integrate)."
Did you make this improvement? I'm very interested...
Thank you!
