I am trying to figure out if it is possible to show two prices for event entry. If they pay online with Paypal option it is one price but if they select the 'cash' option (i.e. they will pay at the event) is it possible to show them the door price on the registration form and follow up email?

Thanks

The way I'm planning to do that is show the full price on the registration screen and offer a discount for early payment. Set a cut-off date for the discount and all should be good. That way there is no chance that the full price is not known. There are options in Configuration to do all that.

I also put a some text in the event description explaining that a discount is applied if payment is processed by Paypal.

This solution may not work for your situation, but it's is one option.

Regards,
Ed

Thanks, not sure if that will work for me since I want to offer them a choice of pre-paying or registering to say they will attend but pay at the event. If they go with the registering and paying later, the confirmation message and email will say they owe the discounted amount I think.

You are correct. If you set it up as I described, the confirmation will show the full amount with the discount deducted on a separate line. It works in my case because I let them have the discount as long as I get the check before start of the event, and text explaining that was added to the registration email. If they pay at the door, they have to pay full price.

Maybe you could use the custom fields to accomplish what you need. I think I read in another post those can be used to alter the total payment amount.
