Recurring event changes the time on day 11 onwards was created by tricklowe
I'm trying to set a recurring event that takes place from 0800-1600hrs, daily.
When I set up the event as a recurring event, the first 10 days stay at the same time, then the 11th day onwards changes to 0900-1700hrs.
How do I stop it doing this?

Hi
It seems this is something related to Daily saving saving (changed timezone in US and some europe countries) , see
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time
For now, the extension still doesn't know about this change (I need to do some more research first to see whether we can make change so that the system reflect the change it timezone) .
So for now, please create two recurring events :
- One from now to the time the timezone start changed.
- One from the time changed to the finish date time you want .
Regards,
Tuan

would like to know also..
We have around 1000 events per year (20 events in one week recurring for the year), so it is a major headache having to set them up in blocks of ten weeks or so.

and using the copy feature for a parent event every ten weeks doesn't create child events
so I'm having to do individual inline edits in phpmyadmin - as it's a little bit faster than doing the same in EB back end
Anyone got any better ideas for a workaround?
Cheers

I just wanted to check in and see if there is any update on this issue. I have about 2200 events which I created back in June using the recurring function for 50 parent events. When I check the times for events that occur starting on November 4th, all the times are 1 hour earlier than they should be. It appears that times are set when system creates the future events and sets the time daylight savings time.
Is there a way to force EB to "NOT" adjust for daylight savings time when creating recurring events?
Thanks,
...Mike

Hi
Sorry, I thought I replied you before. It is difficult to solve this issue completely. The solution is that we can write a script to update database table to fix this issue. Do you have a Skype account so that we can discuss more detail about it ?

Hi
Finally, I found a solution to this problem and implemented it in version 1.5.1 (for Joomla 2.5-3.0). If anyone has the issue, please follow the instructions below :
1. Login to your account, access to My Downloads menu item to download latest version, upgrade it to your site .
2. Go to Events Booking -> Fix Day Light Saving Time, choose the start date and end date (the start time and end time the day light saving time affect), then press process button.
After that, the issue should be fixed.
Regards,
Tuan

Thanks for providing the the fix.
I need a little more explanation on which dates need to be entered into the Daylight Savings function.
For 2012, Daylight savings time officially began on 3/11/12 and ended on 11/4/12.
For 2013, Daylight savings time officially begins on 3/10/13 and ends on 11/3/12
What dates do I put into the Event Booking Daylight Savings function to fix the problem?
Thanks,
...Mike

Hi Mike
The idea is that you will run the fix 2 times :
1. The first time, please choose the start date is 2012-03-11 and end date is 2012-11-04 .
2. The second time, please choose start date is 2013-02-10 and end date is 2013-11-03
Hope it is clear to you. I assume that the date time you mentioned is in m-d-Y format .
