Hi,

being a new user I have the benefit that I 'notice' things that become familiar along the way. So just let me sum up some oddities or issues I have encountered so far. Please advice how to proceed

shopping cart
1. [woraround] [strike]when you leave the shopping card there is no easy way to get back into it (without using the shopping cart module), there should be a menu entry[/strike]
2. [Investigate] The shopping card is not reusing the address information when using it for a second registration, without the shopping card functionality it does (so a registered user only has to fill in once his address etc.)
3. [Investigate] Although the variable 'Prevent duplicate registration' is set to yes, it is possible to update the quantity in the shopping card to more then one, the 'you are already registered' rule does not apply)
4. [By design] [strike]You can have different terms and conditions for events, when using the shopping card you can only have one (which one?)[/strike]

general
1. [Feedback] when logged in and opening an event, you have the possibility to [cancel; registration] although you have not registered. Clicking om the button gives you the 'are you sure' pop-up and when confirming an error is thrown (invalid action): canceling should only be possible when registered!
2. [Feedback] While translating, the strings that become longer then the original text break layout


Coupon
1. [Future improvement] When a user uses a coupon and then cancels the event, the coupon is not reset and cannot be used any more?
2. [Investigate] when using a 100% coupon after registration the event is treaded as a paid event hence giving the user the message that the amount should be transferred etc. This is not 'logical' and confusing from a user point of view.
3. [By design] when you have coupons for multiple events, you cannot use these when using the shopping card, only one coupon can be used? You should be able to enter as many coupon codes as there are events in your cart.
4. [Investigate] when somebody cancels his registration for e.e. a 500€ workshop, I will not refund but give him a coupon worth 500€. He now registers a new workshop with a lower price (199€) he enters his couponcode. What happens is that his invoice will show a negative amount, with other words: I need to pay him the difference???) What would be expected is that the coupon would stay valid with the remaining amount as balance???


CSS
FIXED: [strike]where to find the css for adjusting the module shopping card and upcoming events as they are in my template 'unusable'[/strike]

search
FIXED with PATCH: [strike][3974] When using the Joomla search module (with EB search plugin enabled) it searches and finds both articles and events given a certain criteria. When clicking on the article it will open in 'parent window' (which is expected behaviour), when clicking on the event it opens in a new window (NOT expected behaviour)[/strike]

waitinglist
1. [Investigate] When registering to an event that is full, you can fill in the waitinglist. The waiting list asks for 'Number registrants' even though group registration is disabled for this event, this is not correct.
2. [Future release] a waiting list entry should be 'transferable' to a reservation by a user from e.g. the registration history. In this way you avoid having to fill in all the fields twice (once for waiting list and once for registration.

changing registration
[feature] when a user is on the waiting list, you have the possibility to change the registration to a joomla user. This would also be necessary for registration: suppose a joomla user doesn't login and registers, you would the be able to (in the back-end) assign this registration to the correct Joomla user. This registration will then be available in the users history etc.

Hi,

will start making support tickets for the things that I think are issues in the post above, will update the post to reflect what is a ticket and what not.
I have some 'spare time' over the next week(s) and am able to work on further improving this component from a testers / use case point of view (I am not a developer). Feel free to contact me :)

Hi Tuan,

I did post the 'questions' here (see first post). Just want to help improve and am very eager to do so (now that I have the time).
Overall the component as it is now can be implemented in production (with limitations e.g. the shopping cart) but the questions I pointed out will make it an even better component :)
For me it is important to catch these questions as they arise because otherwise I will implement a sub-optimal work-around and the question will never be raised again (and that would be a waste of improvement opportunities)

Hope I am not causing to much 'trouble', my intentions are to help improve :woohoo:

Hi Tuan,

I saw that you closed all tickets except one. I did not receive any notification (via email) and also no answers here in the forum...
There is one ticket that is still open but it has the status 'require feedback' I cannot find what feedback is required.

I am a little bit confused, can you tell me what the procedure is to get issues fixed and questions answered?

He hits the nail on the head with the paragraph where he describes search results.

How do you make the search results not open a new window?

Hi Tuan,

For me choosing a component is not only on features and maturity but even more important is responsiveness to questions and the feeling I as a (paying) customer get when I choose to give back my experiences and feedback to improve the product. Of course in the end it comes down to does it work or not, but you are 'selling yourself and your product short' by not responding.

I shared my first experience with your component here, I will also share my first experience with this forum and the support within a couple of days on the joomla extension directory.

I am sorry. It was our new year holiday ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_New_Year ) and I was at my home with my farmily, so I could not work.

Could you please explain more detail ? Are you talking about the result when using default Joomla search ?
