Custom Fields question(s) was created by mmeyer
Are custom fields only for the registration form? I was hoping I could make a custom field for the event itself. I need to have a field called Organizer (or some such). Each type of event (category) can be held by numerous regions of our club. I would like to be able to search events by organizer, location, category or date. Is this possible with custom fields?
For example:
SJR (region) hold Solo, Regional, National, and Rally events throughout the summer (The type of event is what I want color coded). As do WDC, NNJR, WNY, etc. (there are 23 possible organizations in our division). If I am a worker or driver, I want to be able to search for event that I want to attend. Sometimes, I may want to find all the events that SJR is holding (or maybe only the regional events - you get the idea)
The only alternative I can think of, is to have separate calendars for each region, but have all the events show on some master calendar. Is that doable?
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Meg

Hi Meg
The extension allows you to define custom fields for events, too . However, these custom fields need to be defined via an XML file located at components/com_eventbooking/fields.xml . Have a look at that field to see how custom fields for Events can be defined .
To be able to use custom fields for events (not for Registration Form), you will need to look at Event Booking -> Configuration, set "Event Custom Field" config option to Yes. After that, when you add / edit an event , you will see an extra tab called Extra Information where you can enter information for these custom fields . These information will be displayed on Event Detail Page .
Regarding the searching events feature, right now, the extension allows searching events based on Keywords, Categories . It also have a location module which allows you to browse all events from a specific location .
That's all features available for now . If you need more features, you will have to customize it yourself !

Tuan
